Little Bit of Learning Cookie Mix Jar
November, 2001 - Debi Dutton

Homemade gifts have a special place in our memories for both the receiver and the giver. These Little Bit of Learning Cookie Mix Jars use math, reading, writing, and eye-hand coordination. Be creative with decorating the jar or using your own favorite recipe.

"Layer the ingredients in a 1 quart jar in the order given. Jar mixes stay fresh for 6 months and those with nuts are fresh for 3 months. Wide mouth mason jars work best. Press each layer firmly with fingers or spoon so all ingredients will fit. (kids love this part……)

1 1/3 cups rolled oats
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
½ cup walnuts
1 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
