Wisconsin is the number one ranked state for cranberry production. Here are 3 cranberry related activities to share.

  1. There are many facts concerning this food and older children can be led on a hunt to discover some of them.
    • You will need encyclopedias, dictionaries, or internet computer access, paper and pen
    • Set a timer for 10 minutes.
    • Work alone or in a team and see how many facts can be discovered about cranberries.
    • Those facts that no one else has listed will earn a point for the team.
  2. Young children can make a center piece using cranberries.
    • Fill a simple clear glass bowl about ¾’s full of water.
    • Add cranberries – they will float.
    • Place a floating candle in the center of the cranberries.
  3. Children often like to help in the kitchen so gather small holiday cookie cutters.
    • Buy cranberry jelly sauce in a 16 ounce can and chill in the refrigerator.
    • Open both ends of the can and slide jelly onto a plate. Slice into ½ inch pieces.
    • Using the small cookie cutters, place on the jelly sauce and cut out the shapes.
