Parents assume children are learning everything in their classes and teachers are presenting every skill and bit of knowledge that is part of their education. Realistically, that is not always the case and parents should always be assessing their child’s learning. This is an easy way to review skills. The skill we will be reviewing are parts of speech.
- You will need photo album pages. Use the slip-in type of page for 3 x 5 or 4 x 6 pictures. Instead of pictures, you will be using index cards.
- Have a child write the 8 parts of speech separately on 8 index cards.
- Next, write a definition for each part of speech on another 8 index cards.
- Once the 16 cards are made, allow the child to independently match the part of speech with the correct definition by placing in the album pages.
